The Accessible Information Standard (AIS) Awareness course provides health and social care professionals with a clear understanding of the AIS and their duties under Section 250 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012. The AIS requires that people with a disability, impairment, or sensory loss receive information in a format they can understand, along with any communication support they need. The course explains the purpose and scope of the AIS, its importance for equality, inclusion, and reducing health inequalities, and the responsibilities of individual practitioners, services, and the wider NHS.
